This private island is located in a very calm deep-water bay near Discovery Bay on Isla Solarte. This is a very convenient location, less than a 15-minute boat ride from Bocas Town. The ROP land which is about 1700 m2 (0.4 acre) is accessed by a new dock that is about 15 meters long, and supported by cement posts. The dock could be extended all the way out to the bay for deep-water anchorage, if desired. The island is fully surrounded with mangrove trees giving the home a lot of privacy.
The construction of the home was completed in November 2020 by a well-known Bocas builder using quality materials. The house is supported by strong treated pine telegraph posts. The bottom section consists of a spacious open area with a cement slab. A portion of it is used for the rain catchment tanks and a portion that is closed in serves as a storage room for the solar system. The home is accessed through a stairwell to the second level which will take you to an open living room / kitchen area. The walls of the house are built out of cement with fiber cement siding on the exterior walls.
The home is very spacious and has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The main bedroom includes a very large storage room. The shower for the main bedroom is located outside on the deck. Since this is a very private island you don't have to worry about any neighbors! All rooms have French doors with stainless steel security screen rather than glass panes. This allows for great air flow throughout the house. All rooms have direct access to the wrap-around deck that offers some spectacular views.
In addition to the main house, you can find a workshop / bodega that was built down by the water's edge. There is also a small casita on the island that will need to be repaired / finished by a new owner. This space would be a great rental hut, tree house, or office space separate from the main home. The roof, floors and plumbing have been installed in this casita. The walls and the bathroom would need to be finished.
This off-grid property is powered by twelve Trojan deep cycle batteries charged by twelve solar panels located on the roof. The Outback inverter and charge controller convert the 24v system to 110v power. There are 2 water tanks with a total capacity of 2,500 gallons, and an additional water tank used for the workshop.
