Anne Michelle Wand is our Zen realtor. She made our dream of retiring and relocating from the U.S. to Bocas del Toro, Panama come true. We contacted Anne Michelle based on interest in some properties we saw posted on the Internet. After our initial contact with her, Anne Michelle “interviewed” us online asking for details – not fixated on our budget, but what we were really looking for in a home. We shared with her all the reasons we were interested in relocating to the Bocas del Toro Province in general, our planned retirement lifestyle, as well as what we were hoping for not only in a home but in a community that would be a good fit for us – there are many to choose from in the Bocas del Toro province. Anne Michelle was a straight-shooter from the get-go and honest with us about all aspects of each property we were interested in viewing. We felt that she kept our wants and needs at the top of her list at all times and never felt pushed toward properties that didn’t fit us or our budget.
Helping us find our forever home was only part of Anne Michelle’s professionalism and support to our family during this process. She also assisted us with some personal aspects of our relocation to Panama such as how to get mail there, took us to her favorite bakery, and acquainted us with local customs and how to get around in general. Bottom line is, we not only found a terrific realtor in Anne Michelle, but we feel we found a fantastic friend.
I cannot speak highly enough of Anne Michelle and United Country. She was prompt and thorough in her responses to my seemingly endless questions and was always willing to jump on a call, send me an email or take a ride (boat ride 😉) to a property to find out more details. My wife and I purchased the property of our dreams but had to go through the process from the states during 2020. Even though it was all done virtually, Anne Michelle made the process feel smooth and understandable, so much so that we almost bought the property sight unseen (although we were eventually able to make it down for the closing). Since the purchase Anne Michelle continues to act as a resource and a friend. I can not recommend her highly enough! Thank you!

Anne-Michelle was a phenomenal agent for us and we could not have been more pleased with her exceptional services; thoughtful insight, genuine honesty as well as her unprecedented dedication to her clients. We were moving from to Colorado from Kansas City and knew very little about the area. She was kind enough to sit and speak with us over the phone to explain the strengths and weaknesses of every area we asked about and even gave some helpful tips about finding our perfect home. Each and every time we narrowed our search, she would revise the criteria and find additional homes we might be interested in, all the while respecting our considerations/ limitations etc. She helped find us a home that enabled us to work with the builders to ensure that we would have the ceramic tile and wood floors we wanted, the perfect neighborhood and the other details that were important to us. She also kept in contact frequently to let us know how things were going in terms of completion of the house, any questions or concerns that might pop up and kept us in touch with the HOA. In addition, she also came to our rescue when our corporate housing fell through and the home wasn’t finished. Not every Realtor would do what she did and she still keeps in touch with us to this day to make sure everything is alright. We are happy to call her not only our Realtor but also our friend. We could not have dreamed of a better agent who would go so thoroughly out of her way to make sure we were taken care of at all times even if it wasn’t necessarily convenient for her. She made sure we were satisfied and secure in our decision and we knew we always had someone to go to for questions.
